Mediation
Introduction | How it works
How does Mediation work?
Individual session
The process starts with an individual meeting with the mediator which enables the mediator to assess if mediation is appropriate for you.
Joint sessions
If you both agree to try mediation, we will have a series of joint face to face session. These joint sessions usually last for 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Often agreements can be reached in 3 to 6 joint sessions.
Agreement reached
Once an outcome has been reached, we will record this in a document called a Memorandum of Understanding.
What are the costs of mediation?
Including the individual sessions, the total costs are usually in the region of £2,500 to £3,500 plus VAT.
