Jones Nickolds listed in The Times “Best Law Firms 2019”

We are delighted to have been ranked as one of the top family law firms by The Times.

The newspaper produced a guide to the preeminent 200 solicitors firms, of the 10,000 in England and Wales. Jones Nickolds was one of only two family teams rated in Kent, with only 24 family teams named.

The Times research was based on reviews from 2,000 solicitors who were asked, other than your firm, who would you instruct.

It is a huge achievement to be included in such a prestigious list, and a reflection of the hard work of the whole team.

The Times commentary on the firm:
One measure of the success of this practice, which specialises in family law, is its rapid expansion. Founded in 2010 by Lisa Jones and Claire Nickolds, it now has offices in Beckenham and Chislehurst — the decision to base itself in outer London was taken to keep fees low by avoiding the high overheads of central London — and, while its clients come from all levels of society, it is increasingly called upon to act for high-net-worth individuals in complex cases involving international assets.

The firm offers clients the dedicated personal service of an expert in all aspects of family law, from prenuptial agreements to separation and divorce and their consequences, including financial settlements; enforcement of court orders; disputes concerning children, such as contact, residence and schooling; pension division; and variation of maintenance orders.

While the partners and solicitors are quite prepared to go to court on behalf of their clients, what sets this practice apart is a willingness to pursue alternative methods of dispute resolution. Nickolds and Rachel Woodd are Resolution-trained mediators and, with Jones and Laura Small, collaborative lawyers who believe that arriving at an agreement between couples through mediation, arbitration and negotiation is likely to prove more satisfactory than having a settlement imposed by a court.

Commended for family
